On the last weekend of each September, some of Northern Ontario's best-known artists will display their works in various host locations along the scenic Deer Trail Touring Route. There is no fee to take this self-guided Tour.
2009 will mark our 17th Annual Deer Trail Studio Tour which draws over 2,000 visitors from all over Ontario, Michigan and other parts of Canada and the United States. The Deer Trail Touring Route is a 200 km scenic route that encompasses the communities of Elliot Lake, Algoma Mills, Blind River and Iron Bridge. Because of the length of the Tour we suggest you take the two days to do the Tour rather than try to cram it all in one day. Although the venues are numbered, there is no set starting point. Plan your route according to where you are coming from and what will best suit your needs.
During the two day Studio Tour, visitors will have the opportunity to mingle
with our artists and to purchase their works of art. These juried artists include painters, photographers, jewellers, weavers, potters, woodworkers,
mixed-media artists and more. A number of invited guest artists are
also included from different areas of Canada.
Come and explore nature's splendour at the height of its autumn colours.
Combine this with Northern Ontario's most brilliant autumn colours, the Deer Trail Studio Tour will be one of this fall's "not to be missed" events.
